Alison Blackmore is an energetic and accomplished educational leader who's no stranger to the magnificent landscapes of Exmoor. Her journey from a local student to Head of School at Cutcombe and Exford Schools is woven with colourful threads of world travels, extensive studies, and enriching work experiences.

Education and Experience:

  • Bath Spa University: Acquired an English and Education Degree, the bedrock of her expertise in teaching and learning.
  • Cardiff University: Earned a Diploma in Health Care Studies, broadening her understanding of wellness and its impact on learning.
  • Exeter University: Completed a PGCE with an English specialism, fortifying her foundation in education.

Alison's teaching journey began at Timberscombe in 2010, transitioning to Cutcombe after the birth of her second son. She has brought passion and commitment to every role she's undertaken, constantly upskilling and stepping up for her team.

Certifications and Responsibilities:

  • SENCO Qualification: As a qualified Special Educational Needs and Disability Co-Ordinator, Alison ensures all students receive the support they need to thrive.
  • Designated Safeguarding Lead: She plays a pivotal role in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all students.
  • Curriculum Lead: Alison guides the teaching and learning process in multiple areas, including English, Science, Computing, Modern Foreign Languages, Music, British Values, and Growth Mindset.

Beyond her school responsibilities, Alison enjoys spending time in nature, aiding on her parents' farm, and venturing on walks with her two spirited spaniels. Her rich tapestry of experiences and unwavering dedication makes Alison Blackmore an invaluable asset to the Cutcombe and Exford team and wider Moorland Federation community.
