Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding

We believe that every child deserves an opportunity to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. The Pupil Premium Grant funding is an essential element in helping us fulfill this commitment

At the Moorland Federation, we believe that every child deserves an opportunity to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally. The Pupil Premium Grant funding is an essential element in helping us fulfill this commitment, enabling us to provide additional support to pupils who need it most.

What is the Pupil Premium Grant?

Introduced in April 2011, the Pupil Premium is a government-funded initiative designed to enhance the education of students from lower-income families, those who have been in local authority care for over six months, and children of armed forces personnel. This funding is aimed at narrowing the attainment gap that can occur between these pupils and their peers.

Our Commitment to Socially Disadvantaged Pupils

The Moorland Federation recognizes our responsibility towards our socially disadvantaged pupils. We are fully committed to meeting their pastoral, social, and academic needs. Our ultimate aim is to narrow the gap between our vulnerable pupils and their peers, promoting equality of opportunity.

How We Allocate the Pupil Premium Funding

We adopt a strategic approach to allocating our Pupil Premium Grant, ensuring it's used in the most effective manner to meet the individual needs of our pupils. Our Pupil Premium Statements, which can be accessed below, provide a comprehensive outline of how this funding is allocated.

The Service Premium

In recognition of the unique challenges faced by the children of armed forces personnel, the government introduced the Service Premium. This funding is designed to support these pupils, ensuring they have equal access to a quality education.

Annual Review of Funding Use and Impact

We believe in transparency and accountability, and therefore, we review the use and impact of the Pupil Premium Grant annually in July. This process allows us to assess the effectiveness of our strategies, make necessary adjustments, and continually enhance the support we provide to our pupils.

Queries?

If you have any questions regarding the Pupil Premium Grant, please don't hesitate to contact your school office. Our team is always here to provide you with the information you need.

Through the Pupil Premium Grant, we continue to invest in the future of our students, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background, has the tools and support they need to thrive at the Moorland Federation.
