Welcome to the Moorland Federation Schools - Important information for Visitors
Thank you for supporting us in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff.
We aim to make your visit to a Moorland Federation School enjoyable, informative, and safe. Please take a moment to review the following guidance, designed to help protect your health and safety during your time with us.
Security
- Check-In Procedure: All visitors must report to Reception / School Office upon arrival.
- Visitor System: Please sign in using our GDPR compliant visitor record.
- Identification: Ensure your visitor ID pass is clearly visible at all times while on the premises.
- DBS Checks: If you are working unsupervised whilst onsite, please provide your DBS certificate or details along with valid photo identification (e.g., passport or driving license). Access may be denied without these.
- Check-Out Procedure: Please sign out at the end of your visit.
- Leaving the site during a visit: Please sign out when leaving the premises and sign back in on your return.
You must sign in each time you visit the school.
Mobile Phone Use
Visitors are permitted to use their mobile phone in the designated areas within the school. These are clearly signposted and staff can identify these areas to you.
Photographs, Videos, and Audio Recordings
Visitors are not allowed to take photographs, videos, or audio recordings during their time on school premises, unless specific agreement has been made with staff prior to your visit.
Parking
Parking arrangements do vary at our school sites, we recommend you contact the school office directly prior to your visit to confirm the parking options available. Please note that vehicles are parked at the owner's risk.
First Aid
If you require first aid or feel unwell during your visit please report to the school office. We have staff qualifies in paediatric first aid and emergency first aid on all of our school sites.
Accident Reporting
All accidents must be reported to the school office at during the visit, where an Accident Report Form can be completed.
Toilet Facilities
Visitors are welcome to use the staff toilet facilities. Visitors must not use student toilets.
Fire Evacuation & Lockdown Procedures
Your host will provide fire and emergency instructions.
- The fire alarm is a constant ringing bell.
- Leave the building via the nearest fire exit and stay with your host, who will escort you to the designated assembly point.
- Administration staff will record your presence. Do not re-enter the building until you are informed it is safe to do so.
Your host will provide lockdown instructions.
- The lockdown alarm is a blown whistle.
- You will be escorted to the designated lockdown assembly point.
Safeguarding Guidelines for Visitors
Visitors play an important role in maintaining the safety of our students. Please follow these guidelines:
- Appropriate Contact: Do not initiate verbal or physical contact with students unless it is part of your visit’s purpose.
- Personal Information: Do not share personal contact details or social media accounts with students.
- Social Networking: Do not engage with students on social media platforms.
- Reporting Concerns: Immediately report any concerns about a student’s safety to a member of the Safeguarding Team.
If a student shares something concerning with you:
- Do Not Promise Confidentiality: Explain that you are obligated to report their disclosure.
- Report to Safeguarding Team: Share your concerns with a designated safeguarding lead without delay.

Our Safeguarding Team is available to address any concerns or answer questions during your visit. Please do not hesitate to ask for their support.

Moorland Federation Schools, complete an accessibility self-audit. Efforts are made to make each school as accessible as possible within the constraints in existing buildings.

Every school has a SEND register, which is a list of children at the school who have a Special Educational Need or Disability and need something additional to or different from their classmates above and beyond the scaffolds and adaptations made during everyday class teaching.
